Our Provence Signature Challenge Event will provide the opportunity to cycle around some of the most spectacular scenery in France taking in the sights and sounds and filling you senses before taking on the challenge of climbing the epic Giant of Provence​, Mont Ventoux, possibly even there times.

Highlights

  • Follow in the tracks of Tour de France legends and climb Mont Ventoux once, twice or even three times

Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Provence! Arrival to the beautiful Provençal town of Malaucene. After arrival and a chance to settle in, you will be attend the Welcome briefing by your ride leader at the event HQ and your Tyco hosts will help you set up your bike or collect your hire bike.

 

The event HQ is the fabulous Hotel Domaine des Tilleuls, which once was an 18th century silk farm. Being set at the foot of Ventoux, it has hosted many groups aiming to climb it.

 

Evening meal to meet the other guests and your hosts for the week 

Day 2: Warm up Ride. Starting off in Malaucene you will ride out to visit some of the picturesque villages that line the hilltops around the beautiful Provençal countryside.

Day 3: The Main Event: Cycle Mont Ventoux with your ride leaders.  Starting off in Malaucene you will ride over the Col de la Madeleine to the start of your climb from Bedoin. After a stop at the summit for the

obligatory photos, you will descend via the route towards the hotel in Malaucene. If you are taking on two sides of the mountain, you will start your climb back up, and then it's all downhill to your hotel. 

Day 4: Extra Credit: Ride the Toulourenc Valley. After the challenge of riding Mont Ventoux, today brings a more casual ride from the village of Malaucene through a number of beautiful Provençal villages perched on hillsides, offering outstanding views of the steep northern face of Mont Ventoux. 

 

In the afternoon, why not take the opportunity to visit a local vineyard to sample some locally made rosé wine.

Celebration Meal with the rest of the group.

Day 5: Departure Day. After breakfast, it'll be time to say goodbye to your hosts and new friends.

  • 3 days of fully guided cycling in an area of France, steeped in cycling history, with the opportunity to climb Mont Ventoux once or twice

  • Rides led by an experienced ride leader

  • Tyco Cycling host available throughout your stay

  • On call support vehicle support for the Mont Ventoux challenge, in case of a mechanical problem that cannot be fixed at the roadside
